The High Plains Renaissance Faire is thrilled to announce that our inaugural 2027 Renaissance Faire in Casper, Wyoming will take place on the beautiful grounds of Fort Caspar Museum.
The High Plains Renaissance Faire is more than a weekend of merriment. We are committed to building an event that benefits the Casper community for years to come.
Every Realm Needs a Home
In April, we decided that Casper should be the home to next great regional Renaissance faire. For months, we have been imagining the sounds, the banners, the merchants, the laughter—but one question remained: where would the Realm arise? We weren't just looking for a piece of land, but rather a place where our community could leave the worries and wiles of modern life behind and immerse themselves in a story.
Then We Connected With Fort Caspar
Standing on a grassy hill with the fort's timber walls nearby, it didn't take much imagination to picture colorful banners fluttering from the forts flagpole, musicians filling the air, merchants calling from their stalls, and families discovering wonders around every corner.
Visitors who have never explored Fort Caspar Museum are in for a treat. The grounds feature reconstructed historic buildings, a section of the historic Guinard Bridge, a replica of the Mormon Ferry, and beautiful open spaces along the North Platte River that make this one of Casper's most iconic cultural destinations.
Long before the first tent is raised, Fort Caspar already feels like a place where a story lives. The reconstructed fort, historic buildings, cottonwood trees, open green spaces, and the North Platte River create an atmosphere unlike any other venue in Wyoming. Rather than building a temporary medieval village from scratch, we'll be able to weave the Faire into a place that already invites visitors to step into another era.
We Met the Right People
From our very first conversations, it became clear that Fort Caspar Museum is led by someone who shares our passion for bringing history to life. Museum Supervisor Steve Gainer has spent a career telling stories through film before turning his attention to preserving and sharing Wyoming's history. His vision for creating immersive experiences at Fort Caspar mirrors our own dream for the High Plains Renaissance Faire.
Working alongside Steve has been an absolute pleasure. His enthusiasm, creativity, and love for history have made every conversation exciting, and we cannot wait to continue building something truly special together.
Why This Matters

The High Plains Renaissance Faire isn't simply coming to Casper. We hope it becomes one of Casper's traditions.
Our goal is to create an event that draws visitors from across Wyoming and neighboring states, fills local hotels and restaurants, showcases Wyoming artisans and performers, and helps support the ongoing stewardship of Fort Caspar Museum. Every guest who joins the Realm becomes part of that story.
We intend for every General Admission ticket purchased to include a contribution supporting the ongoing mission of Fort Caspar Museum. When you step through the gates, you're not only joining the Realm—you are helping preserve a place where Wyoming's history is shared with future generations.
Every ticket helps...
Support Fort Caspar Museum and its mission.
Bring tourism dollars to Casper.
Create opportunities for Wyoming artists, performers, artisans, and small businesses.
Build a new annual tradition for families across the High Plains.
Looking Ahead to Summer 2027

We are planning well ahead, and invite you to dream with us. We envision:
Children seeing knights.
Music echoing through the fort.
Historic buildings serving as the backdrop for artisans and performers.
The scent of woodsmoke and Turkey Legs.
The river nearby.
So come along and Join The Realm.
Closing
We are so grateful. Thank you to the Fort Caspar Museum Association. Thank you to the City of Casper and Steve Gainer. Thank you to everyone who's encouraged this project as we've shared our vision with you such as Rachel Savage at Nicolaysen Museum, Charlie Lee of Sword-N-Stones, and our great friend Mikamus Wheeler. Together with Fort Caspar, we're creating something none of us could create alone.
